Finally getting to the end of a week and a half of "stuff". Punk and the Vicar have been banished, while I attend to the contents of my office, and - more urgently - the final touches to the forthcoming 21st Century Guide to KC. This task has been made harder by continuing problems with SADiE. This album is both an honourable, and, in parts, inspired re-presentation of KC, and also an inconvenient distraction from the concerns of the present - both the work I am doing with the Vicar, and also Robert's ongoing projects.
I met with RF in Pershore last week and much of our discussion was about finding the right balance between DGM's "archive responsibilities" and the future - not forgetting the Present Moment, of course.
My own present moment included a sight of the first draft of Vicar Chronicle the Third, as typeset by Barry Stock. Assuming that Punk can be restrained from placing numerous bare naked ladies on the cover, then all will be well. One view might be that he needs readers who can give their attention voluntarily, not those who have to be grabbed by such gimmicks. Another might be that he simply wants to attend the photo shoot. WE shall see.
